Pictures of the 2013 LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) sets are popping up online. Take a look, and let me know what you think. My thoughts? Meh.
This set will be a good parts pack for space builders. Lots of gray wedge and sloped pieces. Other than that, the April minifigure looks cool.
Looks to have 8 yellow train windows. That’s about it. Good selection of yellow overall.
Looks like it has a lot of parts that will be useful to town and castle builders. Lots of column pieces, and dark gray. Several arches as well.
Utterly forgettable sets. Laughable. I don’t watch the cartoon, so maybe that’s why these don’t appeal to me. The sets just don’t look good though. They seem thrown together. I am confident I’ll be able to pick these up for +50% off at some point.
And sadly, I bet these will huge resale value a couple years after they’re discontinued.
Worst series we’ve seen in years in my opinion.
I am an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and an active member of the Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG). I have loved LEGO for as long as I can remember. I am currently working on the following models:
– UCS Millenium Falcon
– Emmett’s Apartment Building
– Gringott’s Bank
I did occasionally watch TMNT in the late 80’s however have no interest in these sets whatsoever and I too can’t see them doing better than Super Heros or Hobbit or LOTR sets and certainly nothing my kids would ask for either, in fact they wouldn’t even know who the TMNT were.
Mine don’t know either. I hope to keep it that way!
These sets don’t interest me either. I won’t be getting any of them. I would rather spend my money on Star Wars and Hobbit sets myself. 😉
Agreed. I will be getting all the Hobbit sets, I’m sure.
