No, not that kind of Simpsons LEGO. Actual Simpsons LEGO sets may be coming soon! Apparently, LEGO is currently in negotiations with 20th Century Fox. There are no details at this point, but this seems like a great idea for LEGO to pursue. LEGO fans are loyal. The Simpsons fans are ravenous. LEGO will sell a LOT of these sets to them, and possibly capture a whole new market of LEGO customers.
What do you think about this possibility?
Stay tuned for more details. As I hear them, so shall you!
I am an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and an active member of the Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG). I have loved LEGO for as long as I can remember. I am currently working on the following models:
– UCS Millenium Falcon
– Emmett’s Apartment Building
– Gringott’s Bank
Hm… I don’t know. Somehow, I can’t really fall in love with all those licensed products. There are so many…
What did become of freestyle lego and fantasy =(
I agree to a degree. I do miss the Basic sets of my youth, and tubs of just bricks. They left more to the imagination. But these licensed sets add a fun element to my creations. I love adding a special character here and there as a visual joke. And I like all the colors and pieces these licenses seem to bring.
That would be something I would get excited about
For sure! I see lots of great pieces coming with this license!
That would be absolutely terrible!!!
I love the Simpsons (well… most of the a little older episodes anyway), and what I like best are the characters of course…. if Lego gets the license… it would cost me so much money :o(
P.S. are they negotiating for South Park too 😛
Yes, the worst part about this news is this will be a theme I will be forced to buy every single set from, and collect every single character’s minifigure.
