Today, I review another book from a LEGO theme I don’t normally collect. (I am LOVING all these new LEGO books, by the way!) Today, I look at the Incredible LEGO Technic Cars Trucks Robots and More book by No Starch Press.

Usually, I don’t care for LEGO Technic models. They just don’t look like LEGO models. They have big smooth pieces and there are gaps all over the place in the construction. The models in the Incredible LEGO Technic Cars book are, well, incredible. Take this Lamborghini for example. It’s amazing looking. And instantly recognizable. And it has cool functional features. I think the big difference between LEGO and LEGO Technic models is functionality. LEGO Technic models are not static. They don’t just sit there and look pretty. They DO things. They move. They spin. They’re fun. While the Incredible LEGO Technic Cars Trucks Robots and More book doesn’t show you how to build a cool LEGO Technic machine, but it does show you what can be done. And I think it will inspire the inner LEGO Technic builder in you! Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve liked construction vehicles. They’re massive. They’re powerful. The Incredible LEGO Technic Cars Trucks Robots and More book is full of LEGO Technic construction models that are right up my alley. It is truly amazing to see what can be built with LEGO Technic bricks, and what can be done with them. Most of these don’t even look like LEGO Technic models. They just look like larger more detailed (and functional!) versions of their LEGO System counterparts. The ability to turn LEGO Technic creations into smooth, lifelike models is just incredible. The Incredible LEGO Technic Cars book is titled perfectly!
After reading Incredible LEGO Technic Cars Trucks Robots and More, I may have to dust of some of my LEGO Technic sets and see what I can do. I hope this book inspires you as much as it did me. A very good book!
