Let’s look at the LEGO 60th Anniversary sets coming out soon. These LEGO 60th Anniversary sets will be Walmart exclusives and limited edition vintage packaging.
Are the LEGO 60th Anniversary Sets Must Haves?
My first instinct is, yes, absolutely. The packaging is beautiful and takes me back to my childhood. But then when I think about it more, I’m not so sure. I like the models for what they are; vintage inspired designs from 60 years ago. I appreciate that, and I appreciate the basic look and feel. What bothers me is the price. It’s rumored these sets will be $19.99 USD for 40-50 pieces. On the conservative side, that’s $.40/piece.
As a lifelong fan, I’m pretty sure I’ll buy all three of them. I’m not so sure kids will. For $5 less, they can get a Star Wars battlepack with four minifigures!
What do you think of these sets? Will you be getting them?
I am an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and an active member of the Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG). I have loved LEGO for as long as I can remember. I am currently working on the following models:
– UCS Millenium Falcon
– Emmett’s Apartment Building
– Gringott’s Bank
