Man, I really liked GI Joe when it came out in the 80s*, but I was “too” old to collect the 3 3/4″ figures and toys. I had to resort to playing with my cousin’s toys on the down low when we were visiting. Seeing these LEGO GI Joe creations by LegoAthos bring back a lot of memories.
The Cobra Rattler was my all time favorite GI Joe vehicle. I love that it was base don the A-10 Warthog. While the scale of this Rattler seems a little small, it’s perfect for a toy. This scale allows for people to build multiples of these LEGO GI Joe vehicles.
For not using any custom pieces, I think these Cobra Commander and Baroness minifigures are amazing. Love the HISS as well.
The Trouble Bubble is exactly as I remembered it!
While this Mauler tank is very simple, it’s also very elegant. Great representation.
The Skystriker is no exception. Love it. I really wish LegoAthos would post some construction shots of these things. Or better yet, some instructions!
*Yes, I realize GI Joe came out much earlier than the 80s, but the 12″ figure and toys were before my time.
