One of the greatest compliments a LEGO builder can receive, in my opinion, is, “That doesn’t look like LEGO!” Tirrell Brown is a master of this.
Look at these models to see what I mean. The use of arched elements to create wave after wave of sand is inspiring. The desert looks rippled as it does in real life. Also, the part selection for the walls give the impression that this fortress has withstood the elements for quite some time, yet the constant onslaught of sand and wind is taking its toll.
This castle creation is stunning for so many reasons. First, the trees are gorgeous. There is good variety, and they look incredibly natural. I’d love to see how they were created. And again, look at the ground and the castle walls. So much visual information is being conveyed by the use of texture.
I love the crumbling walls on this tower, and the rough hewn roof. And I love the wooden sided top of the tower.
This wintery scene makes me chilly! You can almost hear the wind howling across the frozen tundra, and that beautifully sculpted snow.
