This is one seriously beautiful model. I think it is the nicest LEGO school bus I have seen yet. What really stands out to me is that the builder built in minifig scale, but did not concern himself with making things like the door functional. This is a strategy I need to embrace.
Unless my eyes deceive me, this LEGO school bus looks to be 7 studs wide. I find this to be a tad wide for my taste. When I finally get around to building something similar, I will go 6 wide.
Just perfect. I love the chunky look and feel of this LEGO school bus. If it was offered as a set, I would certainly buy one. I need to figure out where to get a hold of all those yellow slope pieces used on the roof…

In Europe school busses aren’t that common… The first school bus I’ve ever seen was in the U.S.A. Maybe that explains something.
Really? I didn’t realize that. How do most children get to school in Europe. Walking?
walking, bicycle, and/or their parents (or friends/sitter) bring them. At least that is true for the Netherlands.
And if they live further away they can take the (normal) bus, or bicycle or scooter or something like that. I myself always walked or wet on my bike together with friends 🙂
I always lived close enough to school that I could walk, or ride my bike, but all my friends rode the bus. I always though it looked like fun!
Yeah, if this came in a set, I’d definitely buy it
Yep. In a heart beat. I can’t believe LEGO has never released a school bus to my knowledge. Or a school for that matter. :-/
Yeah. With all the different fire trucks and vehicles they always make, you’d think they at least make a school bus. After all, it’s a vehicle that you frequently see driving around a CITY. But I guess the City sets are centered around the cops and robbers theme and maybe a school bus doesn’t fit in with that. On a side note, that’s one of reasons I don’t like City so much. Wish they had more variety….but maybe a school would fit in more with the modular buildings.
WAY too many cops and robbers in LEGO City. If LEGO City were a real city, it would be the crime capitol of the world! Give me buses! Both school and commuter. Give me taxis. Give me pickup trucks.
AGREED!
