Everyone knows that LEGO bricks can be used to create almost anything; houses, planes, trains, and automobiles. I love when I see someone using LEGO in a unique way. It might be in a typical LEGO model, but when you see intricate LEGO textures and patterns, you know you’re seeing something special.
Check out these stunning examples of LEGO textures and patterns by Benjamin Jakobsen.
Two awesome techniques here:
- Using brown tiles in various shades to create the illusion of worn floors.
- Pressure fitting cheese slopes to create LEGO textures simulating carpeting on the stone steps.
LOVE the mosaic floors illustrated above. All the same idea, but very different looks and LEGO textures. I would have never thought to use the new LEGO brick bricks in a floor like that. The next picture is another fantastic example of a mosaic LEGO floor, but also shows LEGO textures in stained glass. Just beautiful.
I really like the mosaic technique employed above giving the wall LEGO textures in the form of tapestries. And I really appreciate the war map laid out in tiles.
Of the LEGO textures I’ve shown, this is probably the most subtle, yet most impactful to me. Using the headlight bricks lick this also allowed him to change the orientation of the dark green windows. Simply brilliant. And I LOVE the guy checking out the waitress, and the reaction of his girlfriend! Perfect scene.
Do you have more examples of LEGO textures in models? Do you include LEGO textures in your creations?

Excellent site laddie. I presume you have seen Lego LCC web site ? Some incredible MOC’s of Lego Medieval [fantasy] scenes. I’m just starting out in Lego at 60 years old in LCC but having fun. Have some mini figs but hardly any grey bricks for castle or other scenery. That’s all on my Christmas wish list. 🙂
Totally agree about Eklunds castle. It’s the Mona Lisa od Lego castles in my view. Ciao, David
