This might be the most stunning LEGO photo I have seen yet. I love everything about it. Wow.
This is a stunning LEGO photo
I am mesmerized by this image. While it shows up in the Flickr feed of Nate Flood, it is not clear if this is his creation or not.
If anyone has more information about this model, please let me know.
First, the LEGO model itself is superb. I love the boat, the little dock scene, and the water; all very well done. but the LEGO photography just blows me away. It almost looks like it has some tilt-shift styling applied. This looks more like a miniature than a LEGO model. And of course the lighting on the water, and the dock is perfect. Just perfect.
What is your favorite LEGO photo?
I am an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and an active member of the Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG). I have loved LEGO for as long as I can remember. I am currently working on the following models:
– UCS Millenium Falcon
– Emmett’s Apartment Building
– Gringott’s Bank
Hello. Thank you for the nice comments! That is my world war 2 german schnellboot. If you look ay my sets on flickr I have a ‘set’ dedicated to the model including some of it in its original diorama of it firing the torpedoes. You will also see I’m not very good at taking pictures of my work thus my new friend (Jim) I met at Brickworld – Chicago took some photos for me and he captured it perfectly. The dry dock is actually 12′ long including a minifig type viic u-boat. The schnellboot was docked on the water side and is taking on new torpedoes after its torpedo run in the original diorama.
Nate, thanks for stopping by! Your MOCs are fantastic, and I will certainly feature them again. Love the shot of the torpedoes flying off the bow!
Does your friend Jim have other LEGO photos posted anywhere? Was this particular shot taken at a show?
I don’t think he does. He is the “official photographer” for Brickmania and they sell his photos at lego conventions. This picture was taken at Brickworld – Chicago just a few weeks ago. http://www.brickworld.us for more information about the convention
Wow! The light on the “water” is just perfect!
Yeah, the reflections off the “water” really did it for me. I’d love a nice print of something like this.
