Wow. So LEGO made it official today. We will be getting the 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters in January. As nice as it is, it comes with a hefty price tag… $350 for 4000+ pieces.
75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
With a whopping 4,634 pieces, the iconic two-story firehouse set features a laboratory, living quarters, a containment unit and nine minifigures: Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore, Janine Melnitz, Dana Barrett, Louis Tully, Zombie Driver and Library Ghost, and also includes Slimer, Pink Ghost and Blue Ghost — all of which you can slide down the fire pole.
Does it look like classic red to anyone else? I can’t see paying that much for a color I hate. It really should be tan and dark orange. As you can see in this shot, it would match WAY better. This unreleased image shows all the cool minifigs that come with this set. These make 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters a little more attractive, but I still think this is a $250 set. Tops.
What say you? Red or dark red? Worth the money? Will you be getting it?
I am an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and an active member of the Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG). I have loved LEGO for as long as I can remember. I am currently working on the following models:
– UCS Millenium Falcon
– Emmett’s Apartment Building
– Gringott’s Bank
I had the same thought about the color. The grey doesn’t bother me particularly but that primary red is all wrong for a 1904 building. Don’t like that they changed the first floor exterior decorations with the stars to bright primary blue either.
I’m curious whether or not they put windows on it all around and if the interior will be nearly as interesting as some I’ve seen.
Lego’s reproduction of the turn of the century fire house is very nice.
I don’t plan on buying one because I’m not really a fan of Ghostbusters but as an architectural object — apart from the colors — it’s quite lovely.
