Let me start out by saying I REALLY envy Megan Rothrock. Not only has she worked as a LEGO designer, she’s written two LEGO books, and had the opportunity to work with top LEGO builders from around the world. She is truly living the LEGO dream! I was ecstatic when I was asked to review her latest book, The LEGO Adventure Book 2.
Like the first one, The LEGO Adventure Book 2 is a must have!
As for the book, I love it. It’s told in a very cute style; we meet LEGO Meg, and she meets up with a LEGO friend. This friend leads he from one talented LEGO builder to another, each highlighting their own unique style and creations.
There’s something for everyone in The LEGO Adventure Book 2:
- LEGO spaceships
- LEGO furniture
- LEGO cars & trucks
- LEGO boats
- LEGO pirates
- Neo-classic LEGO spaceships
- Post-apocalyptic LEGO
- LEGO castles
I think my favorite things I saw in this book were relatively small detailed builds; a beautiful quilt covered bed, and the most realistic palm tree I have ever seen!
And don’t miss Tommy Williamson‘s (aka the Brick nerd) chapter on the set of a LEGO movie where he shows you how to build LEGO movie cameras and 5K lights!
My kids really love The LEGO Adventure Book, too. Meg’s writing style is perfect for them, and the featured builders do a great job showing you how to build in their style, and offer their tips & tricks as well. This is a book I will go to often for inspiration. Sure I can find a ton of LEGO inspiration on the internet, but there’s something special about being able to hold a LEGO book (or any book for that matter!) in my hand, and flip through the pages
