Recently, I posted about an awesome LEGO school bus I came across. Posted in the comments of the original post was a link to another LEGO school bus. This one was built by Pierre Normandin.
While still instantly recognizable, it’s a totally different approach.
I think this is what makes LEGO so great!
Different builders can use different pieces to make totally different representations of the same thing!
I really like the sloped hood on this model, and I like the overall length more, too. I’m not crazy about the door though. This is a good example of where adding functionality compromises form. While the door is functional, it just doesn’t have the same visual appeal to me. I love the swing out STOP sign as well, but I think there is too much of an overhang above the windshield. And I feel the wheels may be a tad small for the overall size of this LEGO school bus.
I very much like how the back-end was handled. The only thing missing is a student kneeling on the back seat making faces at the driver in the car behind the bus! And the opening hood is an excellent touch!
I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a cargo hold on a school bus like that before… Overall, another very nice LEGO school bus. I really need to make one of these. My kids would really love it.
Which LEGO school bus do you prefer?
I am an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) and an active member of the Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG). I have loved LEGO for as long as I can remember. I am currently working on the following models:
– UCS Millenium Falcon
– Emmett’s Apartment Building
– Gringott’s Bank
How do you build it ? Can u give me instructions (:
I wish I could say I made this model, but sadly, I did not. It is on my list of models I’d like to build though. When I do, I’ll post some tips about it.
